Print Isn't Dead

Published by People of Print.

Print isn't dead is a magazine published by People of Print. It is proving the print is not in fact dead. It shows a collection of traditional print designs.
It doesn't include well designed printed publication, magazines and books. So this gave me an idea for my practical work, to design a magazine that celebrates well designed printed publication, magazines and books.

Practice Based Research

What is practice based research?
Practice based research is a form of research methodology that uses

How the Digital Dominate World has an Impact on Print and it’s Future?
- Technique
Print: bookbinding, layout, screen printing, typography, CMKY colours.
Digital: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, type, layout, web safe colours and fonts.
- Content: A collection of well designed magazines, zines and books.
- Communication: It will celebrate well designed printed books and magazines. That also has a successful website that shows how print and digital can work together.
- Research/Analysis: Research into well designed books and magazines and the designers/design studios behind them.
- Exploration/Evaluation: Experimenting with different processes, techniques, layouts, fonts, and colours to evaluate what does and doesn't work.
- Testing: Does it communicate the concept? Do people understand the concept and its purpose? Showing the final outcome to people will judge how effective and successful it is on a whole and if any changes need to be made.
